Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a> have bought the rights to Carley Fortune’s best-selling romance novel, ‘Meet Me at the Lake,’ and will work with streaming platform Netflix to bring the story to the small screen.<\/p>\n

\"\"Carley said on Instagram on August 7, “I’m thrilled to confirm that I’m teaming up with Netflix and Archewell productions on the adaption of Meet Me at the Lake.”<\/p>\n

The novel tells the story of Will and Fern, a couple who meet in their 30s, and deals with themes of childhood trauma that resemble Harry and Markle\u2019s own lives.<\/p>\n

The project falls under Meghan and Harry’s Netflix deal with their Archewell Productions company. In 2020, the couple signed a multi-year deal with Netflix back to create films and series across several genres, including scripted shows, docuseries, features, and children’s programming.<\/p>\n

The news comes eight months after releasing their personal documentary series Harry & Meghan on Netflix last December.<\/p>\n

British tabloid The Sun estimated Archewell Productions paid as much as $3.8 million for the film rights. The project will be their first book adaptation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
